Points & Titling

A coveted award given to the ONE dog who, at the end of an all-breed dog show, has successfully defeated ALL other dogs of all breeds entered that day - by being judged to be the dog who - on that day, is considered to be the most closely conforming to it's own breed's written standard of excellence.

The Reserve winner is selected from the six Group winners remaining in the ring after the Best in Show dog is chosen. The second place winner in the Group from which the Best in Show dog came does not compete for Reserve Best in Show.

Best of Breed is the title given to the dog who has been judged the best representative specimen of its breed at a conformation show.

A competition between the Winners Dog and the Winners Bitch, held during the Best of Breed Competition, whereby the two dogs are judged as to which one is considered to be most closely conformed to its written breed standard.

Champion - Ch. A dog that has earned a total of 25 points in Conformation trials and 1 Best In Show placement

Grand Champion - GCh. A dog that has earned a total of 50 points in agility trials and 2 Best In Show Placements

*Conformation titles go at the beginning of a dog's name (i.e. Ch. prefix dog's name suffix)  If you earn a higher title it replaces the first one (i.e. GCh. prefix dog's name suffix)

Agility Champion - ACh. A dog that has earned a total of 20 points in agility trials and 1 High In Trial placement

Agility Grand Champion - AGCh. A dog that has earned a total of 35 points in agility trials and 2 High In Trial Placements

*Sporting titles go at the end of a dog's name (i.e. prefix dog's name suffix ACh.)  If you earn a higher title it replaces the first one (i.e. prefix dog's name suffix AGCh.)
